The attacks have now with the increase of the fleet size turned into a full invasion, battles currently being fought in space. Neither Alfa Home, which has too much internal dissent, or Gamma Home, which has too small a population, have yet made any attempts to intervene yet.

Their greater numbers have given Beta Swarm the victory in space, a land invasion now commences.

As of yet the invasion has only been a partial success, a foothold has been established and a few hives have been taken but most of the planet remains unoccupied. While Beta Swarm outnumbers Delta Swarm two to one and possess the additional advantage of being able to concentrate their forces more than the defender who has to defend the whole planet the forces of Beta Swarm are unused to the cold with Delta Swarm having the homefield advantage. Also the thick sheeth of ice that covers the planet makes for an additional layer of defense to penetrate and protects the hives from orbital bombardment.

All of Delta Home is now under Beta Swarm's Control. This has however awakened the sleeping giant, Alfa Swarm has begun sending it's ships, including multiple Hiveships, into the Beta Star system. In reaction many of the forces of Beta Swarm have drawn back to their homeworld.

As Beta Swarm have evacuated the Delta system Gamma Swarm has used the opportunity to move in with their fleet, preparing to attack the planet.

The system having been scoured of all potential enemies a land invasion has now been initiated on the planet of Delta Home.

Meanwhile Beta Swarm lost the battle over Beta Home, while they put on a brave resistance many of their ships were damaged (or destroyed) from previous battles and the firepower that Alfa Swarm had at it's disposal by virtue of their gigantic hiveships dwarfed anything previously put up by Beta Swarm. This planet is now also under siege.

Delta Home was quickly occupied as most of the defenders were either dead from the previous battle or had left the planet for Beta Home. After having made sure that the planet was under their total control Gamma Swarm quickly departed from it, reasons unknown.

The agressors on Beta Home were not as lucky, while the hiveships have proven instrumental in the fights as they can land on the planet and dispatch millions of swarmlings, stopping the attackers from being overwelmed by the defenders before they can regroup, the fact remains that they are limited in how many swarmlings they can send down at a given time due to having to transport them from home, giving the defenders a numerical advantage for the time being. The attackers are working onwards as the reinforcements allow for flanking manouvers and keep the defenders from completely centralising themselves because they need to be able to respond to new threats as they arrive but the losses favours the defenders even as they are suffering through orbital bombardment.

The Gamma Swarm fleet has reemerged... in Beta System. They have begun attacking the Alfa Swarm ships. As Alfa Swarm had already sent down it's hiveships onto Beta Home, as well as diverted others to keep up the supply lines they find themselves suddenly outnumbered. Gamma Swarm also unveils it's secret weapon, a rebuilt ship from the precursor species that once inhabited Gamma Home.

Down on the planet Surface things have grinded to a halt as the forces on both sides throw more Soldier at one another, no victory for either side is currently within sight.

In space the suprise attack has done it's job, most of Alfa Swarm's ships have been destroyed and the remaining ones are retreating. Once again Gamma Swarm draw back as soon as they have ensured their victory.

On land things have also taken a turn for the worse; when they no longer get any reinforcements the forces of Alfa Swarm can no longer stop the growing tide of defenders. Now that they do not have to worry about attacks from above the Beta swarmlings devote all forces to crush the enemy.

An unknown ship drops out of warp within Beta System. Once its scanners detect the multitude of vessels within the system, it picks out a few of them to transmit to. The relatively small ship broadcasts a periodic table of elements with accompanying images of the elements in their raw form and their processed forms (for metals). As well as images of a variety of hand held, vehicle mounted, and ship mounted weaponry and vehicles. For every image there is a vocalization representing it along with accompanying signals to release pheromones, laser light bursts, and all manner of unique communication methods. Also included are images (and their exotic communication equivalents) of swapping and exchanging these items for other items.

The ships inside do not react, it is unlikely that they even got the message, much less understood it.

The scout corvette continues to wait within the system to see if the other ships will take notice of it.

Having now scrambled it's fleet back together Alfa Swarm countinues the attack on Beta Home, although much ground and many lives have already been lost. Two of it's ships notice the ship and aprroach it. [If you want to countinue you should probably start a diplomatic thread about it as this is exclusively about the Swarm Unification War]

Unbeknownst to them Zeta Home is under attack by Gamma Swarm. This will be a hard battle as the attackers are actually slightly outnumbered but it is a key to winning the war.

The sudden renewal of attacks on Beta Home, taking out many undefended places as the defenders had left them to press the attack on the invaders, caught Beta Swarm of guard. While they make their attempts at taking these new battlefronts into consideration much momentum is already gained by Alfa Swarm.

Meanwhile the attack on Zeta Home has been of average success, Gamma Swarm does not have the forces to defeat the enemy by numbers to win by outnumbering the enemy but more effektive tactics with orbital bombardments has made them somewhat successful.

At this pont the losses have become unsustainable to Beta Swarm, hive after hive is taken by Alfa Swarm in this renewal of attacks from all sides, defeat is inevitable.

Zeta Home still stands, although it has taken some losses. The battles are on such a concentrated area that the attacker has it hard to use it's advantage in momentum.

Surrounded, outnumbered and cut of the forces of Beta Swarm finally surrender. It is at this moment that Alfa Swarm makes the decision that will decide the course of the war, they will not save Zeta Home.

The planet itself is still standing, although it's defenses are wavering.

The purpose behind this decision became apparant as Alfa Fleet warped into Gamma System laying it's full might on the defending ships. A full scale attack on Gamma Home will be the decisive strike that will win them the war, or turning it into a two front battle with massive losses.

Meanwhile the defenses of Zeta Home are starting to crumble and will soon fall.

Troops have begun landing on Gamma Home, it's hive is located inside one great complex and will be hard to reach. However it is poorly manned as most troops that could be mustered were sent to Zeta Home to aid in the invasion, without reinforcements they will soon fall.

Reinforcements are coming however as, while the last of the defenders of Zeta Home were being swept away the fleet got Word of this new attack and quickly returned home.

The fleets engage one another, Gamma Fleet has the upper hand with it's superior ships, especially the scavanged one. However Alfa Fleet does not need to win the battle, just prolong it enough for the ground forces to win the ground battle while keeping up the supply lines and stopping the enemy from sending reinforcements of their own. As such the battle is a question of which force falls first, the Alfa Fleet or the Gamma Army.

On the ground the Alfa Army throws it forces at the defenses with reckless abandon, knowing that it must use the ground advantage that they currently posses for all that it is worth and take control of as much of the hive as they can Before enemy reinforcements arrive.

While the primary advantage in Gamma Fleet is the fact that they have a greater access to ranged weapons they have to limit themselves in their use of it as they charge the enemy rather than stay back. the scavanged ship has done particularly well, leading the wedge through the defending ships towards the troop transports. Due to the vastness of the space between each ship the defenders have a hard time stopping this tactic. Meanwhile troop transports of their own have started to circumnavigate the battle and land on the planet.

On the ground a few of the Hive Queens have been captured and the defenders are loosing more ground.

The ships have all started to lock in on one another, the space around them diminishing as they engage in a big melee. The reinforcemnts have been able to countinue through them and now the planetary scale is increasing. Many ships, especially from Alfa Fleet, have been destroyed.

On the ground the defenders have started to get support but it is too late and too little, Alfa forces countinue to expand ever inwards.

The heart of the hive has been breached and with it the war is over. The Gamma Forces have no choice but to surrender. From this day onwards it will only be a single Swarm.
