I agree with Mthis, one may broaden the forum somewhat but one should probably still keep a clear theme in it,

Okay, first thanks for the feedback and let me make sure I understand correctly.

So you both would be alright if the forum broadened but would not like for it to lose focus or for the forum to impair personal focus on a roleplay. Is this correct? Clarifications?

That is correct. To be more precise I am not necessarily against someone writing with a focus on the characters but this should still mainly be a civilization kind of roleplay and people should have designed some kind of realm when they participate in it.

Alright that is what I meant originally. Hmm one moment I think I can change things to be more exact in titling.

Name Changed...

...about a week ago I think.

As to getting people to join the forum I would love for it to happen but I am personally too tired of failing to give it much thought. I contacted that Zhon Daeli guy on paradox forums after I saw that his Roleplay go up. And then that died and he didn't get back to me.

I got contacted by guy on Paradox forums asking about it but he never joined.

I'm thinking about contacting people on that new Paradox forums rp, Precursors or something? Mthis was doing that and a few left over from the Rp before stellaris released were there too but I'm not sure if they'd be interested or not.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong I would love to add people I just don't think people are willing to join for whatever reason. They come, they check everything out, occasionally ask questions then stop talking to me so... ...Yeah

Of course not, I meant the new ship counters. Seriously though what I was thinking about was replacing the collectivist-individualist axis with the new authoritarian-egalitarian one.

I'd say that we she just add authoritarian-egalitarian if anything. They are two different scales, and I think at this time if anyone feels a pressing need to change their ethics to match what they wanted, I don't think anyone will stop them. (Considering I won't and all the people I gave that kind of power to have left the forum...)

One as an economic model and the other as a societial one? I am not really that keen on changing it myself considering this new one seems to have put socialism on the wrong side on the spectrum from the perspective of the Khendros.

No, it just that previously it was the collectivist ethos that had socialist undertones while now it is the egalitarian. Paradox seems to want to remove those undertones entirely but I am not convinced that they have succeeded fully (I will have to wait until I can play the patch I suppose).

I mean I suppose the ideas of a truly socialist society are more focused on egalitarianism so that makes more sense, admittedly a collectivist egalitarian but still.

So I want your guys' input on ships in the roleplay. There are the standard Stellaris like classes that we use and some others that are created (and probably should be compared to the stellaris ships for scale at the minimum) but what is everyone's personal head canon as referring to the crew o each class? I mean of course the differing things like size and how extensive the use of smart electronics would affect things but using humans as a baseline what does everyone think?

I am not sure what it is you are asking for but if we use the Khendros as an example their battleships (which are essentially a mix between corvettes and science ships) usually have about twenty Axtromd crewmembers. This is however a really small amount compared to the ship's size that is only done because of the extensive use of artificial intelligences for many of the tasks.

Okay let me try to explain more. (Very polite way of saying that I am completely rambling and it is nearly impossible to follow. Razz ) Essentially what I mean is if we were speaking about humans and the general assumptions for a "normal" race, how many crew members should be on each class of ship do you think?

So should corvettes "normally" have 50-100 crew or should we be talking about hundreds. What is your personal view on the matter?

I would say about a hundred seeing as any more would imply a larger ship than what is fitting for the smallest ship class. If we are to compare it to other sci-fi universes (namely Star Wars) it would be larger than a ship like the Millenium Falcon and more in the style of Tantive IV (the first ever seen ship in the movies that is conveniently also classed a corvette) or perhaps slightly smaller (it should really vary from species to species). The smaller ones could probably be crewed by around forty to fifty without any real problems while the largest ones to still qualify as corvettes could have around a hundred and fifty crewmembers.

Alright now would you have any strong feelings about the other ship classes and crew size?

Not really, although they should increase exponentially to the point that battleships have massive crews that dwarf any other.

Not that it is likely to matter much but if your species was given a choice between one of the different ascension paths which would they choose.
