I study religion and history as a hobby, lime Joe does. In addition I personally know a family that practices Islam and I just got through watching the first half of Schindler's List tonight for the first time. Elective monarchy is a pretty good system all things considered, so long as it isn't extremely corrupt like the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth or the Imperium itself. Candidates are really selected based on who is most likely to play the part of puppet the best, malleability, etc.

Also, congratulations on making me want to debate this further. You've got a feel for how to handle a conversation, The Clans. Very effective to try to discredit what another person says by associating them with some big bad thing no one likes. But understand I am not targeting individual Muslims. I speak objectively about the ideology of Islam, what it preaches, and what it is accomplishing even now.

As you can see from the statistics, thousands of people are killed each year by Muslims. To say that these people are not true Muslims is blatantly false and dishonest. The man in charge of ISIS has a Ph.D in theology and Islamic studies, so I would think he knows that he's talking about when he says throwing gay people off cliffs is scripturally supported. (Which it is, in case you weren't aware.) His name is Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. I highly recommend looking him up.

There are plenty of Muslims who do not support these actions. I am not contesting that at all. But the religion itself has death as a punishment for apostasy (leaving the faith), and goes out of its way to silence those who go against the religious establishment. There are literally specific phrases for people who criticise the actions of the leaders. This is the concept known as making trouble, which is, surprise surprise, punishable by death.

The ideology also makes it known that you will be rewarded in the afterlife for giving your life for the cause. The Quran is considered to be the literal word of Allah, directly from Mohammed. Look into the life of Mohammed as well if you want an interesting read. Because nothing has changed. Countries which are predominantly Muslim are being held back by the ideology.
